Event Description:
Bordentown Community Blood Drive On Saturday November 7, Denny’s of Bordentown is sponsoring the Bordentown Community Blood Drive from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm at its location at 221 Route 130 North in Bordentown. General Manager Vijay Wadehra has made a personal guarantee to the Community Blood Council of New Jersey that he will sign up 100 donors for the Bordentown event. As of 10/21/09 only about 30 people signed up. To achieve the lofty goal Wadehra says, “Every donor will receive a free t-shirt, plus a free short stack of pancakes courtesy of Denny’s. I am determined to provide more blood to the Council than they are typically used to receiving in a day.” According to the Blood Council, only 5% of the eligible population donates blood nationally and 95% of us will need blood by the age of 72. Additionally their records show that New Jersey and Eastern Pennsylvania have had increasing difficulty meeting the daily needs of its local hospitals. With this information known, Wadehra is especially optimistic that the Bordentown community will want to support this worthy cause. Those interested in donating blood on November 7 can register by contacting Vijay at 609-298-4711 or visiting the Denny’s Bordentown location. The Blood Council reminds each donor to be sure to eat within 4 hours of donating and bring a signature or photo I.D.
